My laptop likes to freeze from time to time when I play the sims and mostly I just have to restart the whole thing up to be able to play it again from my last save file (which can be in the worst case from the previous day). But freezing during a saving time period is the worst thing that ever could happen to a player. As I know now: it will result in a total lost of your savefile. No saved lots, no saved neighourhood. Nothing, nada, noppes. :(

I've started this post to make you fellow simmers aware of this rare ocasion; saving your game isn't anything, but making a backup outside of your EA Games folder is something, if you do it often.
You can post here some tips or problems you can have with your savegame if there isn't an other post for this already). Maybe someone can help you here.

There is a post about all of the problems from quite a while back.  With the patches and WA, I haven't heard of too many more problems with saving anymore.  I do know from a few people with laptops, that they had had problems the more they saved the worse it got.  I am not quite sure why laptops are like that, I know myself, like many others have lost games, but it has been a while back.  I took some advice from Metro, I believe and turned down all my specs and turned off my game after a few hours and doing so, I have not lost anything yet, thank heavens.  Good luck and I hope you can find out the reason why.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
