My computer shut off after I'd saved my game, but before I'd quit. When I turned my computer back on and tried to play, that game file had a silhouette of each member of my family instead of a "photo." When I click the check button to open the game, it'll look like it loaded quickly, but then I get this message: "A serious error has occurred while loading 'Young.sims3.' It is strongly recommended you restart the application."
In my save files [my documents->electronic arts->sims 3->saves->] I had three folders related to that game file. One had nothing tacked on to the end, one was a .backup folder, and the third was a .bad folder [
].
Can I recover this? I've seen help pages that describe repairing the meta files, but only for World Adventures, which I don't have.
