How do you catch a deathfish?

I need it so I can make Ambrosia, but I can't understand what I am doing wrong. I got the angelfish. More than enough, in fact. I've tried all the fishing spots and can never find even one deathfish. That's the final thing I need.

Are you fishing in the Cemetery? That's the only place you can find Deathfish, and only between 12am and 5am. (I think those are times, someone correct me if I'm wrong, please)

You're absolutely correct Fez.  Depending on your town, deathfish are only available at one spot from 12 to 5 AM before they disappear again.  In most cities, it's the graveyard but there are a few where it's somewhere else.   What city are you playing in?

Go to the graveyard at night and you'll see the water get smoky with a black fish that looks weird under the service.  The pool is only good from 12 to 5 or until 5 deathfish are caught as far as I can tell.

I think angelfish is it's bait? You could try using that too...

Once youve catched ten death fish you also could stock them in a pond on your lot. That way you have a neverending suply of death fish.

And I tbought it was true that when you are fishing at the graveyard at 4, for example, you can keep on fishing and keep on catching death fish if you dont interupt the action. I thought this was true but need someone to confirn this.

I don't think that works. I've had sims sitting there until after the morning comes, and once they start pulling red herrings out, they don't get death fish anymore.

The many times I've tried to do this it seems as though the deathfish pool is on a timer.  It appears at 12 am and only stays active until one of two things happen: One - it hits 5 am or Two - Your fisherman catches 5 or 6 deathfish  at which point in either instance the pool will despawn until the next day.
