Organizing Files

I have a question for you builders. How to you organize the files for the houses you've built so you don't have to open each one in town view to see what it is? I've just recovered about ten houses I built that I thought I had lost. I need to find a way to keep them -maybe on a flash drive - organized. I plan to build more so I need a system.
