Inventing and Handiness question

Ok, from someone who's never tried the Inventing skill:

I'm thinking of having someone Supermax Inventing in my Dynasty.   Correct me if I'm wrong, but the inventing bench also raises handiness, right?

As they are inventing they will also gain the handiness at a slower rate.  I was barely able to supermax inventing with probably about a 3cm left of the bar until reaching level 10 handiness.

Yes, but at a much slower pace.  It's entirely possible to Supermax inventing without hitting level 10 in handiness.  However if it takes a long while to discover inventions, it's entirely possible that you could.

If someone has Handiness as a Supermax, you're taking a risk with Inventing.

Hmm . . . ok. 

So I might do a professional Inventor instead, but with a Supermax of Handiness.

That means I don't have to worry about finding Pink Diamonds and such for SimBots, either.

Just remember they can invent in their childhood but handiness doesn't start until they are a teen so using childhood inventing skills I was able to get that leg up and keep handiness from being maxed.
