Edit Town: Moving Sims problems
« on: February 17, 2012, 04:04:48 PM »
I want to move some Sims to a nice house it has two double beds and a crib which is perfect. The only thing is the moving screen tells me that it needs beds for everyone. married couples can't sleep in the same bed?

How many sims are you trying to move? Just 2 and a baby?

If it has 2 double beds for two sims it should be okay.

Or you could just evict them from their current house and move them into the new house from the clipboard in Edit Town. :)

Or just go into build/buy mode on the empty house and add a bed. I've had to do that before, once I just put a bed in the front yard haha it worked!!

I was moving 5 Sims, 2 married couples and 1 toddler, the place even had a crib and Esther in the front yard haha that's funny. Why I wonder, doesn't it recognize that married couples can sleep in the same bed? Thanks for the info I guess I had forgotten about the edit town clipboard momentarily, I have used it before. ;D

I'm not sure about the subject of this thread.  Moving a household isn't really an Edit Town problem.  Maybe consider changing it by modifying the first post.

As for the bed issue, do either of the married couple have a low relationship?  If it has dropped, the game won't let them sleep together and that could be why they can't move into the house.

It turns out that when you use Edit Town you have to move a sim into a house with all the necessities. Have you ever noticed that the only way you can move a sim into an empty lot is if you use the game setup when you start a new town with a new sim? It's because it will automatically make your new empty lot sim the active household, so you can add the necessities. However, you can't do this through Edit Town because the game doesn't know if you're going to immediately make it the active household. And if you don't make them the active household, then they'll theoretically die from hunger with no fridge on the empty lot.

Not sure if that makes sense to anyone, but maybe someone else will get it.

Don't worry Moons, I get it.  ;)

As for the current problem, I just suggest going into build/buy like Esther said. You can always just get rid of the stuff you don't need once you take over the household.
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

Oh no they have a high relationship, they just got married. I did move them, but is it ok if I make the topic Edit Town: Moving Sims problems? I just didn't understand why Edit Town (the household mover) wasn't letting me put them into a house which I thought had enough room.

Sure, that's fine.  Did you get them moved into a new house?

Finely hehe it worked, but I still don't understand why 2 double beds and a crib wasn't enough room.
