Cannot load my family

When I try to load my family it says that it Cannot load this save game. It may have been saved with expansion pack data no longer available. When I tried to load it before it said that there was a serious error loading. I tried deleting the original family game and saving the backup as the original game, but it did not help. What can I do?

Firstly - Do you have any expansion packs installed?

Yes I have late night ambitions generations the world one and a few of the smaller ones. Although I don't travel since it causes too many problems.

Um.then you should check if ALL of your expansion packs work properly.If they don't then try re-installing them.If they do,I suggest you still re-install the base game.When you try to uninstall,it asks if you want to keep your saves and custom content.Press yes,so after re-installing the game,you still have your family.If it works now,the next time you save,press "Save As..." - I did this and mine started working again Hope this helps
