Q: where to download cars in here?
« on: January 21, 2012, 08:50:14 PM »
Can I download customed cars in here? And do I have to uninstall the things that I downloaded in the Store whenever I need to install a new expansion pack? Because I always read that whenever you install a expansion you must uninstall first your downloaded stuff.

Hi mealazarte,

We don't allow any custom content on this forum, so that's a no to your first question. We do have links to free cars from the Sims3 store though, so if you check the "Free Stuff at the Sims 3 Store" sticky you might be able to find something you like.

It's recommended that you disable any mods and turn off your custom content when you install a new expansion pack, but I don't know whether it's neccesary or not. I'll wait for one of the techies to explain it for us.  :)

Thank you so much for your time. Thank you for your reply. And yeah, I just read the rules, so that answered my 1st question. Again thank you.

I never uninstall and reinstall my Store Content when I install a new EP or SP, and I only get the bugs introduced in patches.

I concur with Seabody.  Personally I have never uninstalled any downloaded content, much less between patches.

Doing so is essentially unnecessary during the Patch process, since EA does not care what content you have installed in the DCCache folder.

I believe the caveat that mealazarte is most likely referring to is third-party custom content installed as ".package" files.  Most guides suggest that you uninstall those type of packages, just in case one of them is incompatible with your new Patch Level.
