Trying to advance past being flirty in Romantic options?

Hi. So. I'm trying to get the Challenge that says "Have two childhood best friends start a relationship in their teens". I'm playing Sims 3: Pets on 360. It shouldn't matter.

Now. They are both teenagers( have been for a week now in Sim time). I have had them do Romantic options (Amourous Hug, Flirt, Compliment Appearence etc.) to each for other for alot of Sim hours.

It keeps saying :

"Layla thinks Cameron is being flirty" or "Cameron thinks Layla is being flirty.

It won't go to "being very alluring" or "being very extremely irresisitble", and it is irking my soul. -.- I've been trying for two days(real time) and it isn't working.

I can see what the problem is. When Sims are flirting or whatever, they would swoon a bit. When these two  do Romantic options, they do one option, then go back to a normal stance, then go back to swooning, even if i do it in a chain. I guess that's why it isn't changing.

Anyone knows how to fix it?

have you tried resetsim? type this into the cheat panel (control, shift, c): resetsim (name of sim)

If they are on a console they can't do that.

I've been trying the same thing you are on Xbox. What you need to do is make sure that their mood is good. (in the green) also I don't think your doing this, but if you do romance and then friendly, everything you did in romance goes away so make sure you keep to the romance. Do your sims have any negative traits towards anouther? For example friendly and mean sprited. If so that could be another reason why. Let me know what happens.
