placing sculptures on public lots?

I'm working with a sculpture Sim, he bought a community lot (venue) and now I want to place one of his sculptures on the lot.  I can't bring it up from my family inventory when I have the choice to upgrade the lot, so I was wondering if it were possible for me to do this at all?

Click on one of the walls and select "Build on this Lot" or "Buy on this Lot". Then take the hand tool and move the sculpture from the sculpting platform to the location on the lot you want to place the sculpture.

I'm doing this now with one of my sculpture sims to build an ice palace bar.

I wanted her to be able to do Sim Ice Sculptures; but, that option is not available on the community lot. Bummer.

not sure I understand Smastbrook.

I have the sculpting set up on my home lot... and how do I move it onto a public lot?   Can I "carry" the sculpture as far as a public lot?  I didn't think I could.  Very confused.

You'll have to go to buy mode on the public lot and place a Sculpting Station on the lot then have your sim go there and make a sculptor and go back into buy mode and move the sculptor from the station to where you want in on the lot.
