Moving towns
« on: June 04, 2011, 02:26:23 AM »
So how do you move Sims from town to town? Like, say I have 3 kids in Sunset Valley, but I want to move to Riverview with those kids. Now, the only way I know how to do it is to go to Riverview and place the original sims there, but their kids won't move with them. How do you move the extra sims with the originals?

Hi Kobalto, and welcome to the forum!
1. Go into "Edit Town Mode".
2. Select the household you wish to move.
3. Press the "Save household to bin" option. It's on the bottom of the window that appears when you complete step 2, I think.
4. Complete the options that appear.
5. Go to the main menu and switch to the town you want them to move to.
6. Put the household in a lot they can afford.
7. Play them in the new town!

But beware, the act of saving a household to the bin wipes their family tree.

When relocating a household to a new town - do they keep their jobs or do they have to start over?

Also, do their WA stats stay intact?

Probably will have to start over but that can be easily fixed with  testingcheats

I figured as much... Bummer, but Thank you!

EDIT:  I sucked it up and relocated my family and my careers are at the exact same levels and auto associated themselves with the corresponding venues, coworkers, and bosses in the new town! ;D  I'm actually kind of impressed...
