What is gourmet pet food for?

There is a difference between horse fertilizer and horse granola.  Granola and the other pet foods are made by a Sim with cooking skill of at least 1.  Fertilizer comes from cleaning the stalls.  You could at one time roast the fertilizer though but it's not what this thread is about.

I am aware of that, but I was under the impression that the same patch also no longer allowed sims to consume horse granola.

Edit: Found the patch notes. Patch 1.29 no longer allows horse granola to be sold at the store, nor to be ordered from the bistro unless you have Pets installed (?!)

So yeah, I was confusing bizarre stupid glitches

I'm not sure if he lived a longer life or not, and no, he didn't get a moodlet.  Though when I saw him eating horse granola, I was like, hmmm, what could that be?  Then I roled my mouse over it, and sure enough, it really was horse granola.  I think I might have my sims go to the bistro a little more often to see if it really extends their life!  Lol.
