How Do I Breed Pets?

Great idea Dellena, I'll try it. Good thinking loveSims! Pam (a sim) just upgraded the dog park, I'll try to take them there. My interactions are friendly, play and mean. No special or romantic. There were 7 sims and 2 pets. One sim died though and there were still no romantic interactions after his death.

Sounds more and more like a broken lot.  I had a save game where all of the horse jumps glitched.  I didn't know it was the jumps but an error log analyzer told me my save game was corrupted.  So I copied the household, including the house, and inserted them into a new game.  The jumps then showed up correctly as glitched (I was able to tell by the horses not wanting to use them, where before my game was crashing).  I deleted all of the jumps and replaced them and the new game worked fine.  So I'm not sure what's broken on the lot but that's the only explanation I can come up with if:

a. cats are opposite sex
b. have high enough relationship
c. have a dog house
d. have room in the family to add a kitten

I can't think of any other reason why it's not working.

Try deleting the pet house and buying a new one.

Just got back from the game. In the real file, I took them to the pet park where there are many doghouses, and did more interactions. Nothing. So I saved the household to the library, without the house, and started a new game in RiverView, put them on the exact same lot, and bought everything inn buy mode for cats and dogs. I even did the items in buydebug. LoveSims, there is a cat gnome. Anyways, did the interactions, nothing. So I made them become enemies and rebuilt the friendship up to best friend status and there was still no try for kittens. I was thinking it was my graphic card, but in another game, my horses can breed so that's not it. I'm about ready to give up and accept no kitties. I hadn't thought of that Pam, but if buying new houses in the test file didn't work, should I try that in the real file?

Wow, I feel stupid. I picked a female cat from the shelter. I picked a female name for her. I just went in to show you she is indeed an adult, and lo and behold, Precious is a male.   I am so so sorry guys.   Last time I just checked Decker cause I knew I picked a female. Man is my face red.

Ah, don't be sorry.  It's kind of funny, really.  I'm so glad you figured out the problem and can have kittens!

Glad you find it funny Pam, I don't right at this moment but probably will in the future.   All this time I was so sure he was a she. Rica, awesome idea. I've never actually changed gender in the in-game CAS. First time for everything though!

EDIT: After a quick trip to the CAS doctor, Precious is now pregnant. Also, remember how she he was 9 days from elder? Now she is 23 away just like Decker.
