Can bunk beds be used for Adults?

I was wondering because I wanted to do the Asylum Challenge. It would not be by all by the rules but I wanted to see if the ''patients'' could use them.

Yes, they most certainly can.  I currently have a family with two adult sons living at home and they sleep in bunk beds. :)

Of course they can. In fact I was playing with my Simself and I (she) wanted to sleep on the top bunk. (I/She has the childish trait by the way, and she/I am a young adult Sim).

Yes, all sims can sleep in all beds. Adults can sleep in any of the single beds and children (and teens) can sleep in double beds. The only exception is toddlers (and babies) who sleep in cots.

Oh, I've never had a butler. Do they need a certain bed?

A butler can use an ordinary bed.  They can certainly use a double bed, too.  Whether they'll share that bed with another, non-friend sim, or whether they can use a bunk bed, I'm not sure.  I usually give him or her the cheapest one outdoors where they won't bother me.   :D

Edited: I found this response in regards to butlers using beds on the Sims 3 forum.

It doesn't answer whether you can assign the upper bunk to the butler or not, but it's obviously possible for them to use it on free will.
