Serving Food at a Party on the Beach

My Sims are hosting a party by the beach.  I tried to bring the buffet table but the computer won't let me.  I tried to find a caterer in Call Services, but there was none.  I ended up packing a picnic basket, but am wondering what I should do for a great beach party.

Something that I've thought of doing for parties but haven't put to the test yet is High-Quality Dried Food. I love playing guitarists and one of the reasons a lot of Sims stop throwing tips at a guitarist is because they get hungry and leave. So, that was my thinking is just always having high quality dried food in the Inventory and just put it on the ground in front of the Theatre. So, I think that technique would work for any party. Yes, it's kind of bizarre, but hey — whatever works, right?

Someone also mentioned in another thread about making hotdogs and just putting them in your inventory, then putting them out on the ground to feed the people who are giving tips.  It could work for a party, too.  Not very glamous.  Also, you could use the grills at the beach to make them fresh, or other things if your Sim knows the recipes.

You can either bring the food in your inventory.

You can use the grill there too.

You can go into edit mode and place a Buffet Table.

I think their may be a picnic basket there too, I am not sure though.

I have my best cooking Sim make their best meal and put them in inventory.  I think there's 2 or 3 tables you can plop them down on.

I'll remember about putting the food in inventory.

As far as accessing family inventory, it can't be done while on the beach.

You don't need Family Inventory.  Just putting the stuff in your Sim's inventory is what we're talking about.
