Is there any upside to a pro sports career?

It's the only job without a "work hard" option, and preparing for games does not contribute to job performance, so it takes an unusually long time to advance compared to other careers. The top rank has low pay and works 6 days per week. Unless autograph sessions bring in over 700+ per hour, this seems like a poor career choice.
