Spiral Stairs on a Mac

I have the tab for them, but no actual spiral stairs under that tab. Am I missing something painfully obvious, or do I need an expansions? OR are they just not available? I have only the base game. No expansions, no stuff packs.

spiral staircases came with generations expansion pack, you need it to have them, whether on pc or mac

Just to expand on what kiko said, many features have been included in patches without the actual items being included. So if you have your game patched up to date, you will have all the animations etc associated with the stairs without actually having any stairs. I guess they put them in place so that if in a latter EP or SP, they add any extra styles of spiral stairs the groundwork is already there.
