Vampires and pets
« on: November 06, 2011, 01:59:39 PM »
My vampire family has a black cat who continually rolls the wish to "sniff the strange sim." :D  That and I've found horses don't care for vamps much.  My little Summer was going to watch a wild horse who was in the neighborhood but never got the chance as it continued to rear up and looked like it was trying to stomp her.  She ran for her life without me prompting her. :o

Has anyone else got any different behavior from pets and their vampires?

My cats want to sniff anyone who comes to the house, so I don't know if that's actually strange behavior.  I think it sounds normal.

My dog constantly wants to bark, growl at my sim! It's hilarious. Her cat wants to sniff everyone who comes in the house.

Yes, that's what Tasmania does too. :D  It's cute that they can differentiate between regular sims and vampires.

Dogs and cats have instincts that we don't that allows them to know when something's not quite right.  ;)

So true Hosfac, but in the case of my lil Tasmania, she rolls the wish so often I'm not sure if she's trying to get a bead on what they are or just forgetful. :D

The "Investigate Strange Sim" action doesn't only trigger on vampires. My cats are constantly investigating my second gen immortal's IF husband, and now their nooboo too! They get a teddy bear in the thought bubble. :)

I think vampires, imaginary friends, simbots, and playable ghosts (basically anything non-standard) counts as an "occult" sim.

True, but cats will investigate any Sim, occult or not.

That is so cute...I only have vampires so far.  I haven't gotten around to having an IF yet and no simbots or playable ghosts, but the different things in their little thought bubbles is really cute. :)

My dog kept barking at any vampires. When I ended up turning my sim into a vampire, their relationship took a little bit of a hit. I'm not sure if that's a glitch or not though - I play on a Mac and it's pretty glitchy since Pets came out.
