Your guide says

Green Thumbs will start with a free copy of gardening volume 1.

Well, my character that has the Green Thumbs trait did not get the free copy of gardening volume 1.
I tried to repeat it over and over again, but none of my characters that I made had the free copy of gardening volume 1.
At first I thought I need to have a bookcase in the house I buy when starting a new game, but nope, no free book there either.

Maybe more people need to look into it seeing what's the diffrence in getting it or not.

BTW, this is not meant as I know it better then you or something like that.

When the game was first released last year, your Sim would get free books for some of their skills at the start of the game.  That was the case when the guide was written.  However, in the current version of the game, there are no free skill books.  The developers simply removed that from the game.  I'm sorry for the confusion and I'll be sure to let Carl know that we need to update the guide.  Thanks for mentioning it so we can get it fixed.

Thanks for telling us. I'll have to edit multiple guides to fix this, so I'll get on it in the next few days. Love the patches (sometimes) but it makes it a challenge to keep up with changes.
