Horse Can't Use Electronic Safeguard Gate

So, many of us know about the annoyances of the paparazzi. A great way to keep them out of the yard is to fence off the yard and use the electronic safeguard fence. However, my horse can't go through it. My horse can't use any gate actually. I have to use a gate arch in order to let the horse on my lot, and this is already becoming a problem. My sims are swarmed by paparazzi whenever they go outside to see the horse, and that makes it hard to take good screenshots. Does this happen to anyone else? You can't lock the gate arches, so I'm wondering if anyone has thought up a way around this.

I'm currently in the middle of trying to sort out an installation glitch in another game, so I can't be sure of this method.
Could you place a barn door and lock it to everything but pets? Or place several barn doors one after another and do all the lock settings (except locking to pets)? Will this work?

My horses go through that gate just fine.  Have you got the gate locked to Pets?  I know I ride through that gate on three of my horses twice a day.

I don't know about setting up a barn thing like that. I want to keep the entirety of the lot fenced so as to keep away the paparazzi, but I can't set up a way for the horse to get through an arched gate that the paparazzi can't also get through.

I definitely don't have the gate locked. It's odd because even when I open the gate, the horse still won't go through it. There's no thought bubble about something in its way or anything. The action just cancels. The same thing happens with regular gates, too.

Is it a gate with only one door? If so that might be the problem.

It's the most expensive one. It has a callbox on the outside. I don't have a screenshot at the moment, but if Vamp's idea doesn't work, I'll post one.

That's the main gate I've been using to my property as well.  So I'm wondering if there's something near or around the gate that's interfering.

While I'm not entirely sure if this would work, here's something that you could try:

Try to build a barn near the front edge of the lot, and fence in the rest of the yard with the fence butting up against the sides of the barn.  Then place two doors:  one opening to the outside (lock this one to everyone but family) and the other opening into within the yard.  You could even just use a barn/regular arch for the second one.

However, I'm not entirely sure that locking doors will keep the paparazzi out, although I'd imagine it would.

Thanks for that idea, Hosfac. I think that might work. I'm pretty sure the lock will work. In fact, I've used it before, but it was always a pain to unlock it whenever I had guests, since none were able to get inside.

And if you build it to the side, you can actually keep the electronic gate.  I forgot to mention that, but I'm assuming that you've already thought of that.

So, the horse started using the gate just fine after I started my game up the next time I played. I guess it was just some temporary glitch. I would delete this thread, but Hosfac had a really good idea, so I'll just lock it. Thanks for all the suggestions, everybody.
