Right. I created a collection, but when I click an object to place it there, the bottom panel hides. I've tried combinations of shift/ctrl/alt and left/right clicks, drags, the eyedropper, checked in "lessons" (nothing), and read the tooltips of buttons on the collections interface.

I tried google and forum searches, but they all gave results pertaining to the collecting skill.

I think you have to hover over an object, then click on the folder with an arrow on it in the popup that appears. (I think. I haven't done it for a while)

Is it possible to do that for styled objects, or only EA defaults? I would like to group my custom furniture styles together for new homes and savegames.

Can't you just save the style and then it will be in all of your games?

    Yes, I'm wondering if it's possible to put them in a collection.

    I have styles suited for different architectural "themes" like modern or traditional. With hundreds of custom styles it's difficult to remember which saved styles go with which theme, especially when colors or patterns are similar but subtlety different.

    Edit - I figured it out:

[list=1]
  • Select the style tool.
  • Select the object.
  • Save the style.
  • Use the eyedropper to select a duplicate of the object.
  • Click the object in the item list. This can be frustrating for custom styled wall panelling because it looks different than the default, and the white selection box is faint and hard to make out.
  • Select the saved style.
  • Save to the collection.

It's frustrating to have such a lengthy process instead of a simple drag-and-drop. EA should really hire a new UI programmer.  ;D
