My horses are all purple

I've tried both creating and adopting horses, and they always have this purple tint to their top half.  I suspect it's something to do with the way lighting is handled.  Anyone else have this?  Any settings change to get rid of it?

It's not a gamebreaker for me.  Just weird.

For what it's worth, this is already my favorite expansion, and I've only been playing for 2 hours.  And Appaloosa Plains is brilliantly done.

The curtains for the big bay window turn dark purple for me at night, even if the room has ceiling lights and floor lamps right next to them.  While I don't have that problem with horses, my guess is that it's a similar issue.

I'll look into the settings to see if there's anything that looks like it might affect it.

Here are some screenshots (I hope they work):


These are the two horses I created in CAS.  Please note the dark brown area is the part that is purple and the white areas are normally colored, while the lighter colored horse is slightly lavender.  This will be important (I think).


Here is a golden colored horse I purchased.  Note the mild pink tint.


Here is a white horse owned by a neighboring sim with no problem.


Here is a chestnut with similarly no problem, also owned by a neighbor.

My conclusions:
The purple coloring covers only hindquarters, back and neck areas of the horses.
The problem is only with created and purchased horses (I  have not tested breeding or adopting yet).
The extent of the purple coloration is directly proportional to the darkness of the area affected.  I suspect if I create a black horse, the purple will be very noticeable, while a white horse will be free of the defect (In fact, that will be my next test, along with some breeding - results will come in the future on that, if this is still a live topic).

That's just because of the color and lighting, mine do that too.

Does it do the same when they don't have a saddle on?  Just wondering if it's kind of reflected colour from the saddle?  Ignore me if that's stupid idea.

Lesley - yes, it still happens saddleless.  I also tested my theory by creating one black and one white horse.  Sure enough, the black horse has bright purple up top, and the white horse does not.

Lighting doesn't matter.  Shade, sun, moonlight, all the same.  The same color horse on NPC horses has no purple.  I'm going to test breeding and adopting wild horses next.
