Create a World tool - screen goes blue
« on: February 24, 2011, 08:50:45 PM »
Hi!
Today I was trying to customize Riverview with the Create a World tool, and after adding some lots I went into the in-game editing mode to check how everything was going. I entered one of the lots to do some building, but the game won't let me zoom in: as soon as I try to, the screen goes blue and I can't see anything. Anyone knows what's wrong? I only opened the Riverview map that comes with the tool, without altering the terrain or the layers, so I don't think it's something I did that caused the issue. I would appreciate some help here  ???.

P.S: sorry if this is not the right place to post this... just didn't know where else to do it.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just found a solution at Custom Sims 3. I will quote the post here in case it's useful for anyone else  :).

... the solution (for me) was to go into View in CAW, then Camera Settings, then move the LOD Transition Distance slider over to the right and click OK. It worked. I was then able to go back to that medium world and zoom in and edit lots no problem.

Glad you found a solution!  I have that problem but assumed it was from my video card not being so great.  I'll have to see if that will work for me as well.

Good luck! it works for me, although for some reason the camera configuration resets itself everytime I close CAW so I have to keep doing that... but at least I can edit in game now  ;D.
