Moving
« on: October 31, 2011, 10:25:50 PM »
I've checked on your guide and tried to find this info on other places online, but is there a way to move into a home that HAS furniture as unfurnished? I know it states the two prices when building a home, but is the only way to get an empty house is to edit it in the 'edit town' mode first? That seems like a bad oversight on EA's part.

Thank you all who reads and/or comments on this. <3

Do you have a choice when you move whether or not you want to buy the house furnished or unfurnished?

That's what I'm trying to find out. I guess I just didn't explain that correctly. Sorry!

Oh lol.
I mean just try moving and see if you can buy a home unfurnished. It should be easy enough to test.

I don't think it can be done except at the start of the game when you purchase your first house.  If you want an empty house, you'll have to delete all the contents when you move in.  Or just build your own.

I agree with Pam. When you move in game the house is always furnished.

I thought when you move, if you click "unfurnished" the only thing that comes standard is a stove, frig and some cabinets.

That is true when you fist start a game and move a new Sim into a new town. But if you move from house to house within the game it will come furnished. You will get the option to pack or sell your own furniture.

Ahhh ok. I've never moved my family into premade we they have out grown the one that they are living in. I go in to edit town and build what I want and set up the kitchen with one cheap cabinet, stove and frig.  Then they are set to move in. ;D
