ok, so in trying to figure out which expansion has the hidden springs world that some of those above mentioned minor pets are supposed to be found in, i came across something that said hidden springs is a downloadable world so i went to the main sims 3 website where the exchange & store is & i"m only finding individual lots that can be downloaded...but not that whole town. now i'm really confused!
can someone please help me figure this out?
i saw riverview as a downloadable world too but how does this download stuff work?
i buy the games/expansions & then download this other stuff from the website for free?

Now, to help answer your question... There are three worlds that can be downloaded at the official Sims 3 site: Riverview, Buchaneer Bay, and Hidden Springs. Riverview is free when you register your Sims 3 base game. The other two are worlds you can purchase with SimPoints, which you have to purchase on the Sims 3 site. If you go to the Store page and click on the tab for Worlds, you'll see all three worlds available.
Normally we also get a new world with an Expansion Pack. The one exception is Generations, which didn't come with a new world. There are also Stuff Packs, which give you lots of new items, but no new world.
