Multiple Painters for Self Employment

If I have multiple painters, and only one is register with the painter career, and when the others finish paintings I sell them through the sim in the painter career's inventory, then will it count towards their career?

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the paintings you sell will only go towards the career if the registered painter paints them. Other household members can sell the works of the registered painter and it will still count, but it has to be painted by the actual painter. Artwork painted by other members of the household will just add funds to the family.

In my experience it is as twinmum says. This is also true for fishing and sculpting. I do not use the consignment store so it might count for everyone if you were to sell them that way.

I too had the idea in my Kennedy decadynasty to have Christopher catch loads of fish then give them all to Briar to sell. Her job status didn't change but his did.

I think that when you sell a painting only the painter gets credit for it, but you can use anyone's paintings for opportunities. However, the opportunities don't count towards the career.

Marian is right.  The only items that count for career advancement are the things made (or fish caught, etc) by that specific Sim.  I play a lot of self-employed Sims and there is always one member of the household who's the designated salesperson.  That person takes everything to the consignment store - paintings, sculptures, fish, whatever - and the things that are sold get credited to the painter, fisherman, etc responsible for them.
