The difference in horse saddles
« on: October 25, 2011, 09:14:10 PM »
I know the difference between western and english but I read on the article that there is a difference that should be used for racing and jumping.  What's the difference and how do you know?  In Sims, should you switch the saddle before a competition and does it make a difference?

I would assume that the racing saddle is lighter. When you click on your horse and chose the saddle option, there is then a chance to pick racing. Not sure if it's always available because my sim had raced Prince a couple of times before I read about the different saddles, then I went looking when I saddled him next lol.

OK, the racing saddle and the jumping saddle only become available after the horse has learned the skill. Just clicked on Prince and chose saddle, now there is the option for everyday, leading (no saddle) racing and jumping. The jumping option was not there yesterday when I saddled him up to practice jumping for the first time.
As for it making a difference if you change saddles, it probably does, but I've still won races using an everyday saddle.

It's not a big deal in beginner and advanced races, but using the correct saddle is essential for International races.

Use the racing saddle for horse races.

Use the Jumping saddle for show jumping.
