Aging up pets glitch

Ok, so I adopted a foal - but when it arrived it was an adult, with a full life ahead of her. That evening, the game said it was her birthday, and she aged up to elder!! What the?!

My sister just had the same thing happen to her.  I was on the phone with her and she got mad.  Apparently, the npc aging glitch isn't sim only.  Not sure there's anything we're going to be able to do since we can't fix newspaper kids or babysitters really either.

In this case it may not be too much of a problem - so long as it doens't affect the value of my horse too much. I was planning on selling her once I had trained her up, and my household has 7 in it already - and I'm only at the start of my new dynasty!

My daughter was playing yesterday and after she quit, she said her foal had a day to go to age up when she adopted it, but a couple of days later, it was still saying 1 day to go (and no we don't have aging turned off)

I've actually had this happen with other than an NPC Sim.  I was playing three different households in this particular game.  When I rejoined the household whose toddler had aged to a child that day while I played a different household, the child aged to teen when I took back control of his household.  It was like that day was his birthday and the game recognized him aged up to child already and when I actually took control it was still his birthday, so he aged up with me able to watch it.  He became the eldest in the family and I completely missed all of his childhood.  It sounds like something similar happened with the horse.  Maybe it had just aged up from a foal that day, then when you got control of it, it aged up again.

One thing I have noticed is that the game is popping up "So-and-So's birthday is tomorrow" or today but the animals thing will clearly show otherwise and it will age up when it is at 0 days left. So it seems the messages are going off at the wrong times.

From what the original post is about, I assume that there is a bug about adopting an animal on it's birthday making really weird issues. Do you recall what time of day you adopted? I have noticed my sims always tend to age up at around 7-8pm, maybe it's best to try and adopt after that to avoid the bug?
