What is Neighborhood Decay?

I have seen the term used before and I was hoping for some clarification on what it is before I jump into a dynasty challenge.

I don't know if this is what is refers to, but in my dynasty I noticed that the more generations I played the fewer townies were available and there were very few kids in school.  People kept moving out so it became harder and harder to find spouses and friends.  That being said, with proper planning it wasn't a problem, more of annoyance.

Its not used often. and about the only time I hear it is when people are at the end of their long term Dynasty challenges. In all honesty they only dynasty I have (non-competitive) I have saved and moved them into the new town as soon as its available. (Sunset Valley, Twinbrook, Riverview, and Bridgeport. So I have never had the displeasure of witnessing the full effects of this.

I was thinking it might be something like this.

I think neighbourhood decay is the accumulation of bugs and glitches you get in older save files. The longer you play the same household, the slower and buggier the neighbourhood gets.

The issue of the town not having as many people after several generations is a problem with Story Progression.  It was much worse when the game was first released.  EA has improved it a great deal and there aren't as many problems with it now.

It's true that a game will get buggy and glitchy the longer you play it.  Especially in the Immortal Dynasty Challenge where you never move from the original lot, it can get quite aggravating and has even been the downfall of more than one Immortal Dynasty.  For me, the worst problem was that it took a long time for the town to load and for the house to completely render.  Others have had much worse problems.  If you keep your computer and game cleaned up, it will help quite a bit.

I completely understand the load and render times. My longest legacy that I have been using since the game came out Has many issues with this.
I can tell you it's also a problem with the lot and you can see a few pictures (I know they're loaded to the forum the wrong way; I didn't know the correct way at the time) in this thread here The Official Building/Remodeling Showboat Thread

You can go back to your post and use the Modify button to remove the attachments and put the images into the post from the Gallery.  Some shots from inside the rooms would be nice, too.  Just be sure to limit it to no more than 10 screenshots per post.
