Wanted:Ghosts!

I was reading through the professions and I saw the ghost hunter one and I was wondering if somebody could answer a few questions I have about it.
1.Can you keep the ghosts that you capture?
2.If yes to 1, Can you let them haunt your lot?
3.If yes to 1, Can I keep them in a jar on a cute little pedestal?
4. Can I use my gear to just randomly kidnap ghosts? Like go to the graveyard and just start snatching them.
5.Can I get fired for not doing my job?
6. If I quit the profession can I keep at the gear if I reached level 10 before hand?

1) sort of. You can capture spirits, that you can keep in little glowing cubes, or sell at the science facility. Actual ghosts are banished/convinced to depart, not kept by the sim.
2)n/a
3)yes sort of as described above.
4)not sure, I've never tried. I would suspect not in most cases (see my answer to 6)
5)I wouldn't think so, but I've never tried it.
6)when you reach level 10 the sim is given a device that allows you to find spirits anywhere in the neighbourhood - I think you could keep this device as it actually shows up in your inventory, but once again, I have never tried leaving the job after level 10.

4. Nope,
5. I don't think so, you will just probably not advance in the career, you can always use logic, and stop doing jobs to advance
6. If you quit, you will no longer be able to catch ghosts and spirits, but you'll always have the device they gave you at level 10

Most of your questions were answered correctly, however...

If you have a Carter's Display Case XL Edition, if you place ghosts of the same type on it and perform a transfiguration, it will create an urn which will (eventually) spawn a randomly created ghost (the type of spirits used will dictate it's traits).  So technically, after a little work you could have a ghost that you caught yourself haunting your property!

As for the Spirit Positioning Device, it can be used by non-ghost hunters and the tags will show up on the map.  They just won't be able to do anything with the spirits.  But if you gave it to a new ghost hunter just starting out, they could advance much more quickly because they wouldn't have to wait for work to be offered in order to catch spirits.
