Twins are a terror with this glitch. 2 adults and a butler couldn't keep the twins happy. And they were were even worse as toddlers. I was never so happy to see toddlers age up in my life!

When I had triplets, 3 adults and a butler couldn't keep them quiet for one minute. One family oriented grandpa singlehandedly trained all their toddler skills and the others just kept turn trying to snuggle them ):

Try buying them a teddy bear. Toddlers and children can interact with it and fill up their social bar! It's just like with the plants (sims who have Green Thumb trait can talk to plants, I suppose you knew that). Also, to keep their mood high, put the same teddy bear (after interacting with it, of course) in the inventory of your baby when they sleep. They'll get a nice moodlet (Cuddle time), which slightly effects the mood meter and lasts for the whole sleep time + 5 hours after it. It's like the Duck time moodlet they get from bathing with a duck. Sorry for a long post  :)

This is a great post regardless of length! I never knew about bathing with a duck, sleeping with a teddy bear, or that Green Thumb sims can talk to plants! :)

I've got twins with a single mother and a butler.  I don't have any trouble keeping them happy as toddlers.

Glad to help! You can find more info on moodlets here. If you want to get the 'Duck Time' moodlet (lasts 5 hours, +15 mood) buy a "Ducksworth of Bathington" in the grocery shop, place it on the tub and take a bath. It's eliminated if the Sim has Hydrophobic trait.
I also found out that Sims with the 'Desolate' moodlet (very low Social need) can talk to objects to get Social raised. I wonder if it works with toddlers too.  ::) Can anyone please test? Thanks
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

I'm not sure if toddlers can talk to objects or not, but playing with the dollhouse definitely raises their social need.  Oddly, I haven't been having any problem with babies or toddlers' needs in my games.   From reading the posts here, I am very grateful things are ok in my game (touch wood).

I suspect that you might just be a very good parent.  Hehe.

EDIT:  I just had to laugh because the ad generator placed an ad for Pampers below this thread for me.  It says "because your TOUCH means so much" - it might be telling me to be a better sim parent!

There's also some moodlet information in Carl's Guide.

Another thing that will help...  if you have two toddlers that both know how to talk, they'll talk to each other while playing on the blocks table together.  Children can also interact with toddlers by playing peek-a-boo and hugging.

I have this problem, and I don't have Late Night. It's a random bug. Some of the babies have it, others don't.

This hardly matters.  Most of the bugs in the game came with patches, and this particular bug came attached to the Late Night patch.

I've noticed with my newest infants that it doesn't take as much to fill their social bars.  It looks like the bug that made it so hard to socialize has been fixed.

I think for mine it takes 3 interactions to get to full if they just got the lonely moodlet, and 4 if they social bar is a lot lower.

I agree Pam.  I was noticing that while playing the other day.  I thought it might have been my imagination, but after switching households and trying it again, I realized they didn't need as much socialization as before. :)

Same with me. Life saver or what, lol! That glitch put me off sims babies but now they're okay. I think it was either in Generations or a patch, I remember mention of it.
