Problem with buying simpoints with iDeal
« on: September 22, 2011, 08:47:05 AM »
I've contacted the EA helpdesk today and I'm glad I could do that in my own language as that is far more easy to do.
The mail contains (translated to English) the following information:

I have bought for 40 Euros 4000 simpoints. The money is depreciated from my bank account, but on my Origin account I could see that I haven't submitted the order.
How does it come the order haven't been submitted, shouldn't this be handled automatically?

The Date of order is: 22-09-2011
Mijn costomernumber is: number

This is the information that I have on my bank account under 'pay today.'

Followed by the information on my bank account.

============================================================

I wasn't sure about the right translation for 'pay today' but it means litterly what it said: what I have bought today.

When I buy simpoints they show up right away, so I have no idea what's wrong.  Did you try contacting the seller?

I've updated this topic with more recent information.
The information is in fact the same, but I've updated it with more info on the subject.

I ordered simpoints last night for the first time through the Origin launcher and my simpoints showed right up.  I have also ordered them twice through the actual storefront and had no problems either time.  Note:  I am ordering $10 at a time to take advantage of the special.

Are you sure you completed each step?  Have the funds actually been deleted from your account or is the charge 'pending'.

There are a couple of steps to take but otherwise it was an easy way of ordering.  I also received a follow-up email within a couple of minutes of ordering.  Did you received one?  The email looks like this:

Thanks for replying with an example of how your mail looked, but I didn't get an email like yours.
What I did got was a very colied reaction within 30 minutes I believe. The status is indeed on 'pending' as the person who had send the mail told me. But he also told me that it can take up to 24 hours until they received my money and when that happend I will receive my simpoints.
If I hanen't received anything tomorrow night than he advices me to send another mail.
Everything goes in Dutch by the way, so it will for me be the 'real' tomorrow night. :) That's also the reason why I'm typing here, instead of copy/pasting the mails.

I have forgotten to note my latest replie from EA about this. So I will do this now.
On the 23th of September I got a mail in my inbox (different from the example of mtglady) in which was noted that the 4000 simpoints I've preordered where placed on my account.
I've checked on www.thesims3.com if I got them so I could download that wonderful future living room and yes, I could.
So, this problems has been solved, fortuniatly. :)

Last thing I feel I have to note: I am very pleased with the helpdesk of EA, and the quick responce I get. And goodness, I'm glad I could ask this all in my own language. :)

I'm very happy to hear this, Leto.  Maybe others won't be so hesitant to contact EA with problems if they know we get good responses from them.  And very glad you've got the problem solved.

Yes, and that was exactly the reason why I've updated this topic: that people can see the helpdesk helps, for in case they had doubts about that.
