Shortened Maternity Leave
« on: October 06, 2011, 06:42:29 AM »
In my DecaDynasty, Zelda works in the music industry.  She had a baby who aged up to toddler and then she had to go to work the very next day.  I double checked, and Skittles has 6 days until aging up to child.  I've never seen this.  Maternity leave has always lasted until the last day or two of toddlerhood.  Has anyone else experienced this?

It all depends on when the mother's days off are.  The mother receives 4 working days off for maternity leave.  So if she has a lot of days off, then she will be on maternity leave for awhile.  Mother's at the bottom of their career have to work more days, and so will go back to work sooner in their baby's life.

That makes sense, but I swear I've never had a mother go back to work this soon.  I remember it always felt like it was longer than 4 working days by the time it all worked itself out, but I thought I just wasn't paying enough attention.

My generation 2 mother in my Fleurs dynasty had her baby before even starting her career (she got pregnant on her honeymoon night, which was the first day of YA), and she is starting her first day of work around the second day of the babies toddlerhood.

In my games just recently the maternity leave seems to be longer but I think it is all down to what days the mum is supposed to work.
In my hidden Springs DecaDynasty my founder has only worked three days in the entire length of the game so far,(She is now an elder)She has spent the rest of the time either on honeymoon or maternity leave. She has had five pregnancies by the way.
To be honest I liked her being on maternity leave because she made $871 a day as opposed to $218 when she was at work.

Oh, that's another thing.  Zelda got a couple of days off for their marriage, too.  She got pregnant immediately after the ceremony.  That should be a total of 6 days off, but she sure didn't get them.

I think maternity leave overrides the honeymoon stage.  For my entire Steel dynasty, the mother always had to go back around the second or third day of toddlerhood.  I was lucky in another game that if I got the mother pregnant right before she had time off that she would "extra days" it felt like.  So I always try to time it so that the mother does the flip into maternity wear after she's worked before her "two days off period" since most of the careers have one.
