Computer starts lagging and freezing after system restore.

I have a Sony Vaio that I had to system restore after a start up ''repair'' program made my screen just go black. I system restored it and it came back. I installed The Sims 3 as I would and now the computer lags so bad nothing will come up, and if it does it stops responding. The task manager is useless because it freezes to. My computer worked better before the system restore but the restore wipes everything out. ???
