Descouteaux Bay: A scenic coastal community (WIP / pic heavy)
« on: August 09, 2015, 10:12:48 PM »

Description:
At the rolling feet of the Elksback Mountains and on the shore of a quiet, sheltered bay, lies the small community of Descouteaux Bay, so named after the famed French explorer, Guillaume Antoine Descouteaux, who first landed his ships on the sandy beach.

Creator's Note:
This world has been a work in progress since 2011 and its slow progress is due to a number of technical issues. A year ago, I purchased an amazing machine capable of playing TS3 at its best, so the world has come very far. A recent, bizarre malfunction caused a year's worth of back-ups to suddenly quit working, so now I have to rebuild a copy fresh from CAW. Most of my screenshots are from before the incident, so some lots may differ from the final version.

Please enjoy some images and updates before the world is ready for download!

Beautiful!  I'm sorry your backups broke, but it's looking amazing, and I hope things go well from here on out.

Thanks so much! It was very weird and I spent a few weeks trying to fix it, but no luck. I've found that second attempts often yield better results than the first time around. Town is already looking better!

Thank you! I've spent some time redesigning downtown and it really does look nicer than before. So far I haven't run into any routing issue or weirdness!

Here are a couple shots from town:

Mill River Park is a little empty on stormy days.

I think the rainy days look great, then again I love it when it rains and the streets are empty when I look out the window ;)

Me too! I love rainy days and the Seasons effects feel so real. I love just watching it rain and listening to it. The weather makes that a must-have expansion pack for sure!

I spent some time finishing up town and populating the world. I really love the Victorian homes in Midnight Hollow so I added some and redecorated so they look more cheerful.

A coffee shop just opened on Bay View Street!

Every town has its less savory side.

I miss the weather aspect of the game. The darker side of town looks really spooky and beautiful at the same time.

The rain and fog just make the game. I need to add some vampires and werewolves!
