Tutorial almost always starts when starting a new game

I noticed this after an uninstall/reinstall about 2 months ago. Ever since, my game is adamant for me to complete the tutorial.
It also resets my game settings to the game default - reflections off, fog distance near, advanced rendering off, memory notifications on ()... my graphics card can handle reflections on mirrors AND water, for distance far, advanced rendering on...
This happened every time I started a game for several weeks after I uninstalled/reinstalled, and then stopped. Then came back on last night. I keep clicking "Exit Tutorial", but last time, it just kept popping up if I started a new game.
This is an extreme annoyance, because I don't know what my graphics card can handle, and so don't want to tweak my settings.

If I'm lucky enough to have it not prompt me to do the tutorial, then my game is totally normal - all settings are where they should be.

How on earth do I fix this (last time, I just keept starting a new game anyway and I guess it just gave up)?

If you move or rename EA or Sims folder from My Documents, or delete some cashe files (not shore which ones, sorry) game will behave as you just installed it and you'll get default settings and tutorial at start. Not shore about other possible reasons.

I have never renamed my folder, and I used to delete my caches automatically, by I haven't recently.

This happens to me as well! Have you deleted your caches since starting a new game? I think it is indeed to do with the cache-deleting thing.
