What does it do exactly? I set my sims to zero free will (lol 1984), because it's just so annoying that they always want to fix the bed...okay, I know that trait-related. What are the pros and cons of each of the three settings?

High free will means that if you had nothing qued up for them then they will do their own thing (play in sprinklers). Low means they will stand around for longer before doing something. And off means they only do something if they are about to die.

High if you want sims traits to influence them more.
Low if you want the traits to influence but the sims don't do as many autonomous actions.
Off if you like controlling all of your sims actions.

The high setting is by far the funniest.  It's one of my favorite things about the game.  The only time I ever turn free will off is when I want to gather a large group for a screenshot.  If I don't turn it off, they won't sit still long enough for me to get the picture.

I could go without their sparkler addictions though.

But they do do hilarious stuff on high free will. You miss that if you have it off.

You mean sprinkler?  That doesn't bother me nearly as much as it bothers others.  If I need my Sim to do something, I just cancel the sprinkler interaction.  But if I'm busy with another Sim, I just let it go.  It brings up their fun meter, so it's not a complete waste of time.  They act the same way with a water slide.

Yeah sprinkler. It was an autocorrect mistake.

I don't like it because I take my eye off my sims for a moment and then the whole family is in the sprinklers.

I find free will funny only because fun is the major Sim need. Their hunger bar could be red and they'll play in the sprinklers instead of go to the fridge and cook something, lol. Sim Darwinism, I guess   :D

Haha, good thing they live in a high-rise and there's no sprinklers.

I agree with Pam. Depending on their traits, you can get some crazy things going on in the household with high free will.
