Congratulations Joria. I welcome feedback on my build but I will be the first to admit that my build was terrible and just did not turn out right at all.
But we live and learn and things can only get better(they couldn't get much worse)

Ha! I soon as I saw Joria's a little lighshow in my mind went off! It went like this "Ding Ding Ding Ding! WE HAVE A WINNER!"

My feelings exactly! I loved all the entries in this contest, but yours truly stood out for me. Congrats to all who entered. I can't wait for the contests of the new year!

Very lovely Joria!  ;D It is beautiful! Truly and absolutely amazing!

I agree completely!  It took all that I had to finish up my build after seeing Joria's masterpiece.

Rachel, please don't put your work down - your build isn't bad at all.  Architecturally and decoratively it is very good, it is just more subdued than the other builds.  I personally think it is all a matter of interpretation of the assignment, and it strikes me that your interpretation took a different direction than the other builds.

I appreciate any feedback people have for me.

Thanks Kat,I had this idea that Mr Claus would be sick of all the festive Christmas stuff and want a holiday home that was less festive. After I posted my entry I wished I had gone over the top with the Christmas theme.

I had my entry and then I got so sick of Christmas Decorations and colours I almost threw up, Lol. I took a break and forget. I remembered at 11pm. Let's just say I never made it. I got half of the furnishings done.  8)

I personally loved all of the entries.  :)

Congratulations Joria!!!  Loved your build :)

Thank you to those who voted on my build.  As usual, I would appreciate any feedback on my build as I am always looking to improve!

Ratchie:  For me personally I totally could see your perspective on how he may be sick of Christmas.  I do think that your rooms were a little sparse but in general I did really like it, my favourite part of the house was the pool area what an ingenuous design.

Katluvr:  I really loved what you did with sectioning 'arty' area's off and putting windows in I loved that concept.

Joria:  I loved your build especially the Tree Pool :)

***wonders when the next contest is going to start***  ;)

Ok, can't really critique my build because honestly, I love it.  I know there are flaws but I don't care. lol

SassySimmer:  Your build was charming, colorful, happy, enthusiastic and met all the criteria.  The man cave felt a bit empty and not quite what I envision a man cave to be but other than that I really loved your build.  I particularly liked the way you scattered rugs in different patterns in the workshop!  My immediate thought was, "now THAT is clever!"  The kitchen was fabulous as was the dining room.  Ok, all the other rooms!  It really was your best build so far I think.

Katluvr:  What can I say?  I loved the way you used colors and divided the areas up.  The kitchen had me staring at forever!  I love the fact you made it surround a really lovely courtyard with pool.
It made me smile and feel happy.  I just looked at it over and over and kept coming back to it to see it again.  Really well done!

Ratchie:  I am going to have to take you in hand about this "I can't build" business because you certainly CAN build!  Your house met all the criteria and then some.  As a matter of fact, when I saw it I wondered if I had done right by going gung ho holiday theme!  I think you had the right idea.  It was supposed to be a get away.  Your kitchen was unique and appealing and the workshop was wonderful.  What I personally don't care for is the dark colors you chose.  I don't think I'd want to go to such a dark building for a holiday.  I think if you took the same building, exactly as it is laid out, and changed the wallpapers inside and out a bit, you'd get more of a vacation look to it.  Like, maybe use a light colored log cabin wood on the outside and lighter wood tones in some of the rooms on the inside.  Also, the man cave did feel a bit empty.  It was the room I struggled with the most and finally asked my dh what it needed!  Took a man to build a man cave! lol  I would like to see you keep on building.  If you are unsure about something, ask us for advice.  You have really good ideas and I really hate to hear you put your builds down.  You are better than you think you are!
What?  Grannies can't play games?

What would have been my entry didn't look very Christmasy apart from having fir trees outside and the pillars at the front being north pole like. Inside it was a neon mess.

Ratchie you can build! Just look back through anything you've done and you will see that each time you build you improve. Never give up. I have seen great improvement in many people over the course of the contests last year. I do hope to see the same thing this year.
