Game Freezing?

My game will work for a couple of minutes then it will kind of freeze. The sims wont move and I can't click anything but if sim is sleeping the the zzzz's will continue moving and water will still move.

 I looked at a different post about game freezing and the things it said to do didn't help. Maybe someone here can help me?

What are you running? EP's/SP's/Custom Content/Mods.

Does it happen no matter what, or only on specific saves? How full is your sim's personal inventory? What have you already tried?

It only happens on one save, a family that I had just made. I have all ep's installed and all sp's except 70's 80's 90's stuff.

 I don't have much installed as far as cc's go but all my mods and cc I've had for awhile and nothing happened until now.

Okay, it's not Isla Paradiso by any chance, is it?

The reason I ask, is because that place is notorious for lag. If you are already using mods, I recommend installing Nraas Overwatch, Error Trap and Register. Once you have them, click on the city hall and select Register, then go to animal control.

Reducing the number of wild animals will help a LOT. Some worlds have pretty nasty routing issues, and having 6 horses, several deer, several raccoon's plus all the stray dogs and cats running around can play havoc with your system.

Sometimes a simple 'resetsim *' will help with lag.

When I first got the sims 3 my very first save did that. But, I opened another file and put the same family in and it worked just fine. Since you said it only happens with one save, I would suggest saving the family to your bin and starting a new save file to play them in.
