Problem with the Store
« on: August 18, 2011, 04:14:40 AM »
I got gifted a while back from Rachel, and It wouldn't let me download at the time. I've waited a few days, and I clicked on My Account (To get to Purchase History) and it then asked me to log in again. I did that, then it took me back to the homepage of the store. I clicked on my account again, and It still did the same thing. It is a continuing loop, and It also means I cannot get to any of my memory awards, or any gifts in the future. Please Help!

Have you tried using a different Web Browser? I do know that the EA Site doesn't remember Logins very well, it oftens asks me to log back in. If you ask me the whole site is a glitch, if a different browser doesn't help try Customer Services, they may be able to solve the issue for you. I downloaded my gift okay so it doesn't sound like a whole site problem.  :-\

Just open a different program to enter internet. I.e. if you're using Google Chrome, try Internet Explorer.

How do I change my web browser? Haha, I'm an Internet noob ^_^

Your web browser is what you're using right this minute to look at this page.  You click something to open this window.  If you have Windows, you might be clicking the "E" that's for Internet Explorer, aka IE.  You'll also see it referred to as IE 7 or IE 8, depending on what version is in use.  In addition to IE that comes installed on any Windows computer, you have the option to download other web browsers once you're on the interned.  A couple of popular ones are Google Chrome and Firefox.  After you download them, you'll have the icon on your desktop to click.  A window will open just like always, but the buttons and such will be different and it will operate a little differently.  A website sometimes works better with one browser over another.  Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to make sites that are loved by all browsers, so webmasters (like Carl) often have to make decisions about which browsers to favor when writing the code for their websites.  You'll see suggestions like samoht04's above because you just never know which browsers will have trouble with a site and which will act right.

Edit:  I just saw that Chronic beat me to a much more brief answer.  We were having some problems with Google Chrome not working in the Swap Shop, but the last couple of times I tried, it worked.  Generally, websites are more prone to accepting Internet Explorer because it's the most widespread.  Sorry if I gave way too much information.

No worries Pam, yours was much more helpful I'm sure.

For example my default web browser Opera doesn't show the pop-up window the store generates when you click download. Google Chrome on the other hand does. So I temporarily use it when downloading from the store.
