Sims spontaneously poofing back home, and other weird stuff
« on: February 13, 2010, 09:26:18 AM »
This is getting really annoying...

In one of my games, I have a Sim living by herself in Riverview, whom I'm trying to get married to a ghost, but that's another story. The glitch that's happening is, sometimes, when she goes fishing, she'll spontaneously 'poof' back to her home, as if she'd been reset. One time, this happened right before she cast her line, this time, it happened right after she caught a Deathfish.

In another of my savegames, I told one of my Sims to enter the house, and she poofed back to a fixed place on her path to the house, twice, before finally getting to where she needed to go. This was while she was carrying a glass of nectar to take inside(she had gone up from the basement where the nectar was stored, and was heading for the kitchen, to sit down and drink it).

This random teleportation is getting really bothersome...especially since in that one game, I'm trying to get Ezmyrelda acquainted enough with a ghost to get married, by taking her to the graveyard each night and chatting it up with whatever male ghost she can find. As soon as she 'poofed' back to her house when the game glitched, she went to sleep, thus altering the schedule I had meticulously set up for her(wake up in the evening instead of the morning).

I'm using no mods at all...I have only the base game, WA, HELS, and the latest patch.  I'm mainly wondering if anyone else has encountered this bizarre glitching.

Not come across this yet but a quick question, do either of the sims have the teleporter reward?

The first one doesn't, but the second one does...although why would she use the Teleporter on her own property? xD

Don't know why but I know it's possible.

I'm afraid I don't have the answer to the original problem, I asked about teleporters because I wondered if it was a glitch with that item but obviously not if 1 sim has it and the other doesn't.  ???

I'm starting to wonder if the cause of Ezmyrelda's poofing was from the Special Seeds in her inventory. EA fixed the glitch with Sims not being able to fish with those in the inventory(although they still can't shop with them in the inventory), but replaced it with a worse glitch, if indeed it is connected. I took those out, and I'll be experimenting to see if she poofs again.

Once the teleporter is bought with happiness points, anyone in the household can use it if it's sitting on the property.  It's not limited to just the Sim who purchased it.

True, but Tiberium_Glow said it was separate savegames  :-\
