Twinbrook Plaza Bookstore Doesn't Work
« on: June 23, 2013, 11:29:02 AM »
Hi, my plaza (the bookstore/grocery combo) doesn't work.  I use this town for 3 different scenarios and all 3 have the same problem.  I can use the grocery store, but not the bookstore.  I've been into other towns and their bookstores seem fine.  It seems limited to Twinbrook.  I just recently added Seasons about a month ago, but didn't notice any problem.  Then 2 days ago was the patch 1.55 which I updated to and that I think may have been the trigger.   I copied the plaza to the bin and replaced it.  the problem persisted.  New and used characters cannot shop there.  I also started a fresh town and no go for that either.

Can anyone help me get the bookstore back up?

Upon further investigation I found the posts for the patch 1.55 problems.  I found that my problem is listed there.  So This post can be ignored/deleted and I will monitor the 1.55 posts.
Sorry for this post.

Did you try reseting the world? You need to type "resetSim *" (without quotes).

If that doesn't help you could go into edit town, remove the bookstore and put it back again on the same lot. I mean, don't replace the whole lot from the bin, but go into the lot and replace the building itself. Sometimes rabbit holes get bugged somehow and replacing them usually helps. It happened to my school in Appaloosa once, also after patching, and replacing the school fixed it so maybe it will work for you too.

Good luck!

Yes I tried to replace the store.  I copied it to the library, deleted the building and put it back.  Did not bulldoze and replace the lot.  No go.  I did not do a town reset.  Will try that.  But I think this is a patch issue.  thanks for the quick response.

You could also create a new community lot and place a different bookstore there. Maybe it's the bookstore from Twinbrook that got bugged.

I just patched up yesterday and I haven't played yet, so I can't talk about the patch though.

The reason for this as explained in the 1.55 thread is because it's too close to the sidewalk.  All rabbit holes need to be at least  3 whole spaces back from the sidewalk for Sims to walk in now.   It's effected a small portion of rabbit holes, mostly in Lunar Lakes.

Hi, since patch 1.55 i had this problem with the bookstore in twinbrook too, and it realy is about where the building is placed. I fixed it by moving it closer to the supermarket and a little into the backyard. Looks like this http://i.imgur.com/0yaHc8w.jpg .
