Travel folders in Save files
« on: August 12, 2011, 12:17:33 PM »
I've noticed that when my Sims travel, a .PACKAGE file appears in their Save file. Is it possible to delete this? I'm wondering if getting rid of it might cut down on travel bugs.

I did delete the ones for China, Egypt and France from my Random Wishmasters Family (challenge has been completed), and was able to load the game without any trouble.

Has anyone else experimented with this?

I don't know which, but I think that one of those should be for your vacation home. You might want to look it up a little more as to which one is the vacation home file before you start routinely deleting them, otherwise, you'll have to purchase it every time you travel.

Aren't those the files that contain information about what you did in the foreign locations? I believe deleting them will reset everything associated with the locations, so use with caution.

Mmm... I don't have a vacation home, and if resetting things makes it possible to do tombs again, that's good. But I won't start playing around in my decaDynasty file.

Yeah, I believe that's what it does after double checking, but it certainly won't be allowed in a challenge.

If you are talking about the travelDB.package, I believe that is the photo storage area for the memories pictures.

I would also caution people against deleting their travel worlds.  It may allow you to redo the tombs again but you will likely end up with two sets of foreign sim residents/acquaintances.
