Yeah, Pam, I'd like to hear your results because I just did testing with an athletic Sim and there was never an option to take a class twice. He took an athletic class first thing out of the gate on Day 1 and never had the option when he cracked level 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. Now, I had testing cheats on to speed this up, so if there's some kind of grace period needed then that's a different story. He was at level 9 by Tuesday afternoon.

It doesn't have to be different towns, it could be from Sunset Valley to a new Sunset Valley. Maybe it'll work moving them to the clipboard and back.

@Pam - Of course. Do you suggest sending him the info in an e-mail? If so, then since the Twinbrook guide (which I and another member are doing) is in the making and nearly finished, I'll send this info with it, in a separate info. :)

Yes, I believe Pam is correct. In my first attempt at the Legacy challenge, the founder was able to take a Painting skill class more than two times, actually. When I saw the option, I cued the action "Take a Class" multiple times (four, if memory saves), thus somehow making her take a class multiple times.

Note: This game of mine was started before even World Adventures, around September 2009. Since I had no idea what patches were at the time (:-[), I didn't patch up (until WA demanded updating, later).

Oh, my apologies.

A thing that helps is the moodlet manager. Pretty much, make sure your sim is happy.

Yes, yes, that's exactly correct. Thank you, will add to the list. :)

Don't only vampire kids get bonuses on skilling? And isn't that only at night in the first place?

Firm answer: no. Born vampires do skill faster than their (if) turned-vampire parents. To my knowledge, and according to my Legacy save file, all vampires skill faster than human Sims at all times - as long as they don't get "burned". Lol.

Now about the glitch. I found a proper and most likely reliable information on the official forums.

Quote
The skill modifier is broken. Every time you reload the game, vampires skill faster. Some skills are instant 1-10, like photography. Eventually, your normal non-vamp sims will stop being able to skill because of this.

For the very few that actually have had it where your sims cannot skill, this is the problem.

Edit: I know that they are supposed to skill faster, but it's supposed to be 3x not 100x.

Chronic I think I was right here is the link :

Lol, never knew! Absolutely adding to the list. Thanks! ;)

Thank you Carlos. That could be useful for non-challenge players so I'll add it, too.

Someone should tell Carl to come by this list so he can add it to the guide, it has lots of good info.

Also, feel free to request a home by PMing me! Always happy to help.

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

When I have my Sims do some major skilling I always have their favourite Music on, it boosts their mood which boosts their Skill Gain.

Chronic PM'd me about this great list. I think it would fit nicely on this skills tips page here. I'm taking a little time to relax at the moment but will keep his PM so that I can remember to head back here and incorporate it. This is a very good compilation of information. I have most of it in the guide somewhere but it'll be very appropriate to put it there where it can guide people taking on any skill. I might need to make that page a bit more visible since it's about to get a lot more useful :D

Yep, it's also especially awesome when their favorite music is arranged to match yours. ;)

Thanks Carl, my pleasure!

I think all the tips have been incorporated into the skill tips page. Its role was to discuss skilling faster so it's the perfect spot. To raise awareness of the page I did a sitewide notification. Thanks for your contributions, as it feels much more complete at this point.
