Finding More Flame Fruit?
« on: September 03, 2011, 11:38:51 AM »
I should have known better than this.  I have a Sim completing an opportunity in Egypt.  He's currently tasked with finding five flame fruit.  On his previous trip to Egypt, he harvested those in the largest room of the Temple of the Burning Sands.  Before he could deliver them, his travel time ran out.  He went home, planted a few, but didn't bring any back to Egypt with him.  On this second trip, he harvested those along the staircase at the end of the tomb, but there were only four.  I kind of suspected the tomb wouldn't reset simply because he left and it didn't.  I checked the general goods merchant and the food merchant, but neither has any flame fruit.  Anyone know where else I can grab one without returning home, cultivating more and returning to Egypt?

Well, I know in France, the many grapevines that are found there replenish after a couple days, so maybe the flame fruit at the end of that tomb will too?

I'm not shore why you didn't harvest flame fruits in main tomb room on your second trip? Therea re 2 places for Flame fruit in that pyramid, one at the begining - only 4 of them, and in that large room at the end of the tomb. Flame fruits will always be there, first or fufth time you enter the tomb. And even if you haven't finish the opportunity, tomb should be solved and tomb rooms visible. I remember that you have to dive into well to enter that second part of rooms in that tomb. That is your only option without going home.

Most of the things in the tomb have not reset, as you said, Anushka.  The only things that I saw that had were the chests, which all contained new treasure.  The flame fruit plants I'd harvested on the first trip had not bloomed again.  I was also singularly unsuccessful at getting my sim to use the dive wells to travel between rooms, as if, since he'd already made the discovery of what was on the other side, he didn't need to know anymore.  Perhaps if I were to enter the room, the flame fruit would bloom again, but that hasn't been possible so far.

Flame fruit in that room behaved strange before, but in a good way - as soon as you harvest them all, they all bloom again. Now that might changed lately.
Still, you could come back other day, after 5 AM and see if those 4 plants bloomed again.

Anushka, you read my mind!  I went out to run errands and while out, I thought "I wonder if they'll be back after 5am."  I might have time to see today, but I'll look soon.  Thanks for suggesting that!

Yep, that was totally it.  Even though my Sim had left Egypt at midnight and returned at 8am, since the clock had never actually read 5am, no new fruit had grown.  He camped out and voila!  More flame fruit the next morning.  Thanks for your help!

:)Yee, I'm glad it works out, and that solution was simple enough
