Routing Issues in Temple of Heaven

I have run into problems time and time again squeezing past those tight spaces in the Temple of Heaven (China). My Sim stomps her feet and waves her hands as if she can't move. Will I have to learn Zeneport just to get past this?

Yeah, me, too. I see in another thread that they try Zeneport. Worked for me in one instance, but not in another. I also see suggested Ghost Potion from the Generations lab table. haven't tried that.

Is the place where you're having the problem the spot where you go to get the really valuable treasures in the pingu's axe section of the dungeon, the spot where there's a secret door in a really narrow diagonal hallway?  I've tried teleportation and it didn't work, but the ghost potion sounds promising.

Indeed, it is the section you described. I might try the ghost potion, but it's not fun for a Sim who doesn't want to learn logic.

Doh! I have a ghost potion handy and my family's recovered from their Egypt trip, I could pop over to China and try it out.

This problem started after an update some time ago.  When I first had WA the sim could do this section easily. 

Ok, this is not for anyone doing challenges, but, otherwise, this is my work-round.  First enter; Testingcheatsenabled true.  Then enter; enablelotlocking true.  When your sim is has broken the rock and can enter the area, save the game in case you make a mistake.  Right click on the floor and enter build mode,  Carefully remove the section of wall, including the door which cause the block.  Leave build mode and continue as usual.   This is a permanent change which allows re-entry at any time without further cheating and is useful if you want to return to raid the tomb on subsequent visits.   I don't consider this to be cheating as the area is not meant to be blocked.  Don't remove any other walls as you could destroy lighting and spawning points.

The most frustrating part about these tight spaces, and there are more than one of them, is that having zeneported into one, and then had the Sim unable or unwilling to get out...I told her to "meditate" and she walked right through the problem door, just ambled through it! ... to get to the spot where she thought she needed to sit to meditate.

Can't use zeneport with all the problem tight spots because there's not enough room to sit in the lotus position in some of them.

I want to hear if ghost potion works (I now carry two of them)! I think I'll head to the Temple next time I'm in China.

Tuatha's Garden quest in France also has these places.

I haven't tried the ghost potion in the ToH yet, but I did try it in another tomb.  The problem I found with using ghost potion was that any areas that are locked (blocked by an unopened door) don't become unlocked when the ghost enters it, and the ghost doesn't use the door, so he can't unlock it. Also, when the potion runs out, the "ghost" becomes uncontrollable and travels to the home lot (and doesn't travel quickly!)

Thank you Wai, I'm going to just edit the tomb lot.  I agree, it's not cheating.  Breaking the routing to collection relics is not a feature - it's a bug!

I finally got around to taking the fam to China and running them through the Pangu's Axe dungeon and the Ghost Potion technique worked  without any problems.

Where I did run into trouble was that the family I took to China already had Pangu's Axe in their inventory (they were saved from Appaloosa Plains and restarted in Moonlight falls, so the adventures reset) and ran into a problem: there was no Axe in the dungeon and the Sims can't complete the opportunity.  Pity.
