I'm a Ding Dong Newbie

Okay, I've been playing this game since Sunday and have not made it all the way through the beginning quest, although my Monarch is a level 9.  My question is, even though I've added other heroes, I don't see an option to play them.  Can someone explain when I should be able to start playing other characters and how exactly do I switch to another character?

Welcome to the forum, Skitzoid Lady.  Your thread title made me laugh!  (although it doesn't really tell anyone what you're asking about)

Each quest you take on will be for one or two specific players.  If you take on a quest for the Monarch, you won't be controlling any of your other heroes during that quest.  When you choose a quest, you'll be able to see what quests are available and what characters are involved in each quest.  

Another question:  If you're only seeing quests for the Monarch, are you've sure you've actually added your other heroes to the kingdom?  (not just the buildings)  Putting in the building doesn't automatically add the hero - you have to then click on the building to do that.  I know this because once I forgot to put in a knight and it took me a while to realize why I wasn't seeing any quests for the knight.

Thanks for the reply, Schipperke.      I really am a ding dong.  I kept thinking and thinking about this issue on the way home from work, so fired up the game and figured it out.  From this vantage point it seems like it should have been so simple, AND the game has suddenly become much more interesting.
