Canceled Actions
« on: January 28, 2010, 05:00:44 PM »
Help! My guy sim in this family is stuck with something wrong with him. Everytime I have him do something, he starts, then the action cancels itself! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This action canceling goes for everything! Including talking to other sims, or doing regular daily needs. I had to re-click him to take a shower 3 times before he was finally clean! Any ideas for what I can possibly do? I tried the ResetSim cheat and it didn't work... maybe there is something else?

Is he absent-minded?  Because those sims will have actions cancel.

That was my thought, too, about the Sim being absend minded.  Absent minded Sims can be very annoying because those cancelled actions!

Any chance he's cancelling in favour of another action?

I once had a burglar who refused to leave the lot and my sims kept cancelling actions in favour of an autonomous 'Burglar' one (I think they kept running over to yell at him, can't really remember, it's been a while).

If it is something like this you may need to reset the cause of the problem (in my example, the burglar) not your sim.

Mummies have problem with this. Mummies' and people's interaction gets cancelled due to the Mummy! interaction all the time.

No, there isn't anything like that going on. He was just at his house with his sister-in-law and his wife and I kept asking him to do things such as fix the computer, he would go over, start on it, then a big 'X' would get put through the action. He would stand up. So I decided maybe he was hungry, I had him start to cook a meal, yet another 'X', so I got him a quick meal. An 'X' popped up almost immediately after he started eating. (Seeing as I don't like wasting food I sat there for about 5 minutes trying to get him to finish the whole meal). It's so frustraiting.
I don't want to give up on this family because I finally just got a level 3 visa in 2 WA places. I worked so hard for that.  :'(
I hope I can figure out the glitch soon.
