"Reading to sleep" versus skill toys
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:58:04 PM »
Just a heads up: You really can teach a child sim a skill they wouldn't normally get (like cooking or handiness) by using a skill book for the "Read to Sleep" interaction - but that apparently cancels out the effects of using a skill-building toy like the toy stove or the block table. I had a child sim master the toy oven, but when she aged up to a teen, she started cooking with the small fraction of a point she'd gotten when her dad read her to sleep instead of the three she should have gotten from the toy! How disappointing.

I preffer to do both. It sounds like a glitch, because that didn't happen to my child sim.
