Real Estate Cheat

I have tried to work the 'freerealestate' cheat and still don't understand how it works because when I type it in, it seems to work until I try to move a family to a new house or does the cheat have to be used in edit town mode.

Can anyone help me, please?

Yes, I think it only works in Edit Town mode.

[Execution]

Step 1: Go to edit town, and click change active household (this step is skipped if you're making a new neighborhood)
Step 2: Press Move In Household
Step 3: Press Ctrl + Shift + C to open up the cheat window, and type in "testingcheatsenabled true" without the quotation marks.
Step 4: Press Ctrl + Shift + C again to re-open the cheat window. Type freerealestate.
Step 5: Proceed to moving in your family. Regardless of anything, real estate will be free.

There may be other ways, but this works for me.

I just go to edit town, then type testingcheatsenabled true, then freerealestate. Choose your family and move them in.  If you happen to leave edit town to do something else, like build on the lot you just moved the family into you'll need to retype freerealestate in the cheat window.
